Lady Michele Renouf

Lady Michèle Renouf is a model and actress, not an academic historian or a political extremist. So how did someone from her background become interested in the campaign to defend real history?

Speaking to the Institute for Historical Review at a conference in 2004, Lady Renouf explained how experiences while organising a charity event during 1997 first drew her attention to the phenomenon she now defines as twistspeak.

Lady Renouf addressing the Hillsboro conference, May 2007

Lady Renouf has spoken at many events around the world to defend the cause of free historical enquiry. Most recently (above) in May 2007 she addressed an International Revisionist Conference in Hillsboro, West Virginia. Lady Renouf's Hillsboro speech will appear on a forthcoming DVD and an article based on her speech will be published in The Barnes Review.

In August 2007 Lady Renouf and the JailingOpinions.com webmaster Peter Rushton attended a demonstration outside the German Embassy in London in support of jailed revisionist Ernst Zundel, and later spoke at a Free Zundel meeting in the city.

from the Independent, 26/10/07: Jailing Opinions webmaster writes on the hypocrisy of threatening Iran in the face of a nuclear-armed Israel: "Should a self-interested version of 1940s history be allowed to dictate the nuclear power politics of the 21st century, with potentially disastrous consequences?"

Call for Bush-Blair war crimes charges

Video of Lady Renouf debating with Professor Norman Finkelstein, author of The Holocaust Industry, can be seen on YouTube.

Video: the Renouf-Finkelstein debate

Whatever one thinks of Prof. Finkelstein's arguments, one must respect his willingness to debate with his opponents. This contrasts with the bullying style so often adopted by defenders of orthodox Holocaust history.

A recent example of this bullying style comes from the Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, who says in a March 2007 column that "no university or group that would not invite David Duke should lend its imprimatur to Finkelstein's poison. Duke and Finkelstein are opposite sides of the same hateful coin."

Another prominent Jew who is vilified by fellow Jews for his courage in speaking the truth as he sees it is jazz musician Gilad Atzmon, who contrasts the approaches of President Ahmadinejad and the Bush-Blair axis.

The appointment of Tony Blair as a Middle East envoy to continue the policies of that axis is discussed here.

In April 2007 a report on history teaching in British schools was widely publicised, amid claims that some schools were afraid of teaching about the Holocaust. The report is analysed here.

One week earlier the British government had announced an intensified crackdown on anti-semitism.

In February 2007 Lady Renouf was interviewed by David Duke for his web based radio show. Dr Duke is a former Louisiana state representative and candidate for the United States Senate. He is the author of several books, most recently the controversial Jewish Supremacism.

Prof. Robert Faurisson and Lady Renouf
latest from Robert Faurisson

Lady Michèle Renouf was born Michèle Mainwaring in Australia. By ancestry and naturalization, she is a British citizen. She began professional careers in childhood as a ballet dancer, a model and an actress in television commercials internationally. Having studied Fine Art at the National Art School, she also obtained Diplomas in Art and Education and became a lecturer in Fine Art and Media Studies at Queensland University of Technology. In 1970, she took residence in London where she became Countess Griaznoff by marriage and gave birth to two children. After her divorce from a twenty years’ marriage and charitable works for Russian refugees, she wed Sir Francis Renouf in 1991. Sir Francis, an international financier who helped reconstruct Germany’s post war banking system, earned many enemies in the international press. That marriage was destroyed by a mendacious media, ending in divorce shortly before his death in 1996. Lady Renouf continued her careers and her studies. In 1992, she gained a Diploma in Landscape Design and designed an Elizabethan Knot and Maze Garden for the reconstruction of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre; and sponsored the building of its Wardrobe of Robes Room in 1997. From 1999 to 2001, she read for a post-graduate degree in Psychology of Religion at the University of London.

Wagner and Judaism
Michèle Renouf's monograph on Wagner and Judaism - militant Jewish protestors claimed even the colour of the pages was a reference to the "Yellow Star" worn during the Holocaust!

Her monograph in 1997 on Wagner and Judaism: Inspirational or Conspiratorial? and her Heidelberg Conference paper in 1998 on Moses and Wagner: Two Advertising Legends in Tribal Mystique earned her a lot of trouble and lost her the starring role in Wagner a stage play by Rudolf Sabor, when sponsors cancelled its season at the New End Theatre, Hampstead. The Irving-Lipstadt trial in 2000 called her attention to the repression of Holocaust Revisionism, and she became an active supporter of persecuted revisionists.

Lady Renouf has been a filmmaker since 2001. In 2002 she presented her first documentary, Palestine Scrapbook: a British veteran’s very different story at both Houses of Parliament.  Her second film’s Prologue for a trilogy on Israel In Flagrante; Caught in Acts of Twistspeak was screened at the 2004 Cairo Conference; the trilogy is yet to be released. Her latest film is Jailing Opinions (2006) now available on DVD.

Lady Renouf and the President of Iran

At the Tehran Conference in December 2006 Lady Renouf gave Iranian President Ahmadinejad a copy of the DVD Jailing Opinions and the Ernst Zündel documentary Setting the Record Straight

Extremist Jews seek new Purim massacre in Iran?

The international media regarded the Tehran Conference as another example of Iran's incorrigible extremism. Daring to sponsor a conference at which forbidden historical questions are debated is automatically to label one's country as a 'rogue state' in the neo-conservative world view. For Bush, Blair & Co, hosting a historical debate is a far worse offence than being in breach of more than sixty United Nations resolutions. UN resolutions, like 'war crimes', are viewed very selectively through the prism of Twistspeak.

Neo-cons frequently compare Iran's President Ahmadinejad to the Jews' archetypal biblical enemy Haman. The Jewish festival of Purim, which began this year at sundown on March 3rd, is a bloodthirsty celebration of the defeat and execution of Haman, and the massacre of 75,000 Persians. (Iran is of course the modern Persia.)

Coincidentally the Iraq war in 2003 was launched at Purim. David Duke is one of many Americans who noted that this year's Purim saw an intensification of plans for an attack on Iran. In an article on his website, Dr Duke examines Purim's traditions and looks at the relentless campaign of vilification aimed at Ahmadinejad's Iran.

Another commentator making the link between the Purim tradition and today's aggressive foreign policies is the Jewish jazz musician Gilad Atzmon, who has been ostracised by many fellow Jews for his candour. In an article titled From Esther to AIPAC, Mr Atzmon concludes:
Once we learn to look at Jewishness as an exilic culture, as the embodiment of the 'ultimate other' we can then understand Jewishness as a collective continuum grounded on a fantasy of horror. Jewishness is the materialisation of politics of fear into a pragmatic agenda. This is what Holocaust religion is all about and it is indeed as old as the Jews.

The Purim mentality is not confined to Zionist opinion formers, but would seem to be shared (and passed on) by many ordinary Jews such as teacher and blogger Meryl Yourish, who under the heading Teaching Little Jews to be Big Jews, tells us:
I'm a Jew-hater's worst nightmare: I teach little Jews to be big Jews. I may not have children of my own, but I'm doing my part to propagate the Jewish nation. That knowledge gives me great satisfaction.
...I pass it on to my students. I've taught them that one way to piss off a Jew-hater is to chant "Am Yisrael Chai" ("The people of Israel live"). I've noticed that if you start that chant at an anti-Israel protest, it really torks off the anti-Israel protesters. This always leads my students into chanting the phrase for a minute or two in class, which they love. They also like it when I say things like "Purim is the holiday where the Jews kicked the crap out of the Persians."

Don't even think about debating with the like of Ms Yourish, since she tells us that her website is a No-Israel Bashing Zone.

I've no doubt that she and her students will be cheering on the bombs and missiles, if and when they start falling on Tehran.
